LAW6150   European Patent Law   (15 credits)

Description

The overall aim of this module is to provide an overview of the legal architecture of European Patent System. The module will enable students to get an understanding of the role and relationship between key institutions, the role of the European Patent Organization and the courts, including the newly created Unified Patent Court and its interaction with the Court of Justice of the EU. Students will analyse selected cases and they will be encouraged to critically reflect on the challenges facing the new European patent system.
